Do we know if it will have wide-screen support? The description says nothing, also we don’t know if they bugs were fixed

Sims 1 has widescreen support but it’s very basic actually disappointingly basic. There aren’t any options for exclusive full-screen and the UI bar is pretty small on a large monitor.

so it’s basically same as the fan made widescreen patch

Here is a screenshot of wide-screen support on a 1920*1080 monitor. It’s pretty underwhelming for $40.

It’s available on Steam, Epic and EA app. But if you buy it on Epic or Steam it still requires EA app to be launched just like TS4.

Lol. I have the free Sims 2 collection they handed out years ago and it has IKEA and did I mention it was FREE?
To charge 30 bucks for the Sims 2 missing the IKEA stuff pack that was given for free before, is a big fat NOPE.

Shadow

They couldn’t include it due to licensing issues, they also cut some songs for the same reason. They charge the same amount of money like Aspyr does for Mac version of TS2. The Legacy collection at least has all expansion packs.

they could always renew the licenses, but as usual EA decided they wouldn’t do it

The Sims 2 was never officially free. It was only free for people who had physical copies of the games. At some point, they stop asking for proof and people took advantage of that, but it was never intended to be given away. I don’t know why people are expecting a company to give stuff away for free like that…

Yes it was free, EA published that with I-Love-The-Sims cD KEY, you can have the game added to your origin library.

It’s disappointing that IKEA stuff is not included in the Sims 2 legacy edition.

so if anyone already owns ts2 ultimate collection or even the physical cd copies like me, no this isn’t updated for our current systems and runs the same way it has before; total bummer :/ mine literally still has the worst res and I refuse to pay $30 for a game I already owned for decades now.

I haven’t yet tried ts2 but 1 is pretty disappointing. Hopefully, 2 will at least run better on Windows 11 than the ultimate collection did.

Knowing EA they probably didn’t even bother to fix the shadow bug that was in Sims 2 (fortunately, there’s a mod for that) 🙁

They seem to have permanently disabled shadows as the “fix.”

You need to go into a lot to change the shadow setting. The outside sim shadows do look fixed for me (On the high setting).

Does anyone know, for sure, if the 25th Birthday Bundle includes the all the expansion/stuff packs? I’m assuming that’s what they mean by “bonus content”, but I don’t want to waste money on it if that isn’t the case.

i am wondering that too- as it gave separate prices but is the $40 include everything for sims 1 and sims 2…

On The Sims Instagram they commented on the post and said “The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle includes all the content in both legacy collections.” So, I would say it’s safe to say the $40 includes everything.

tbh that re-release is a unfunny joke to me, cuz for Polish users it costs much more – 220PLN (ca. $55)

Barring any discussion about “what’s the point”, what if you already have the Ultimate collection, which includes Ikea, and decide to pay the lovely amount for this new Sims 2 collection that doesn’t have Ikea, will your old version be replaced and result in the loss of Ikea? I assume there is no upgrade to the graphics and that the new version is just about compatibility.

Krisp

It’s not even about compatibility, it is the same version as Uc, but without Ikea, ad a few songs

With the IKEA pack being excluded from the re-release, people will just stick with the ultimate collection.

They had the chance to really win over a lot of lost fans in the midst of TS4’s shortcomings and the waste of development time that is Project Rene. Instead, they took the classic EA route of cutting corners for a quick buck.

This should’ve had remastered graphics. Absolutely not buying this.

but what could they do about graphics, besides adding filters. Game runs on the engine and render it does. Maybe textures at most updated to higher quality, and models. but for a game this big, it’s 18 separate games in one

Here’s how to get the IKEA stuff into the game if you already own it.

I still have it on cD from back in the day, so this is how I did it:

Find where the new game is installed. I bought on Steam, so it is here: c:/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/The Sims 2 Legacy collection
create a folder “SP8”
Extract “compressed.zip” from the cD into this folder.
IKEA items show up in game.

I bought both of these games, that I actually already owned. I am very surprised to see that for the legacy edition of the game, The Sims 2 Store Edition’s content, as well the the official pre-order bonus content, are missing! Why is so? They said that it contained EVERYTHING except for the Ikea Stuff Pack. Ok. But it should then include BOTH the Store Edition’s content AND the official pre-order bonus! Too bad!
