Event stream projections for performant and agile applications

Digital transformation results in a dramatic increase in the demands for data that’s currently locked away in back end systems. Simplistic approaches to accessing data place significant pressure on the backend system, and are dependent on its availability. By creating event streams based on changes in the back end data, consuming applications can build their own independent local “projections” to enable reliable low latency responses for their user interfaces. This subtly new take on existing event driven architecture patterns provides multiple opportunities for optimization and innovation.

Deploy IBM Cloud Paks to Red Hat OpenShift infrastructures

The Cloud Pak Deployer tool uses configurations stored in a Git repository (a GitOps approach) to fully automate the deployment of Red Hat OpenShift and IBM Cloud Paks on various cloud infrastructures. Each configuration file defines the desired end-state by defining the infrastructure, OpenShift cluster, and IBM Cloud Pak to be installed. Secrets are kept in a vault, which the Cloud Pak Deployer uses during the deployment.

Building integrations with event-driven flows or flows for APIs

In this workshop, you learn how to create a fully integrated application using IBM App Connect. IBM App Connect, which is a key component of the IBM Cloud Pak for Integration platform (and available for free on IBM Cloud as a SaaS offering), showcases the agility of integrating applications on the cloud. You can use IBM App Connect to build integrations such as event-driven flows or flows for APIs.
