Europe is one of the most popular destinations for holidaymakers, but how much you'll spend on a vacation in the continent varies dramatically depending on the countries you visit.

Using data from HelloSafe, Visual Capitalist mapped the daily cost of accommodation, food and transport in 15 European countries. The figures were compiled in September 2024 and do not include airfare.

The most expensive country in the ranking is Switzerland, which requires a daily budget of $359, or $2,513 for a week of travel. Following behind are France ($267 a day), Greece ($249) and the UK ($243).

When it comes to more affordable destinations, Russia tops the list, with travelers needing to budget just $85 per day. Croatia ($128) and Turkey ($162) are also cheap spots for tourists.

This is but a snapshot, Tom. Click the article link within the summary above and you'll discover they researched 135 countries, and Ireland is $191/day. They didn't include the entire map here because they figured the reader would click-thru to the original article they referenced.

You don't show any value for Ireland, which is likely one of the most expensive. Also, the map has the "UK" label over Ireland, and misspells "accommodation."
