One response would go on to capture the attention of hundreds. Reddit user u/lm11110 a proud husband, shared how his wife was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's in 2003. The disease changed her personality and, over time, stripped away her emotions and their physical connection. Eventually, physical intimacy disappeared, and he moved into a separate bedroom as she became self-conscious and withdrawn.

Now, 20 years into her diagnosis, she is in the late stages of the disease. Daily care has become a struggle โ€” simple tasks like showering or helping her use the restroom are now monumental challenges. But despite all of this, he has never wavered in his vows. Heโ€™s remained her sole caregiver, refusing to institutionalize her because, as he puts it, he cannot bear the thought of someone else taking care of his wife.

He wrote, "The first 38 years of our marriage were the happiest of my life. The last 13 have been pure hell โ€” but I still love her as much as the day I married her."

This sentiment struck a chord with so many people online, where his story has gained numerous supportive responses. Redditors have shared their own emotional reactions, with many opening up about similar experiences of caring for loved ones through unimaginable hardship.
