This Breakdown Of US Median Household Incomes Highlights America's Best And Worst Parts
Using 2023 Census data, Reddit user TA-MajestyPalm broke down median household incomes into small chunks, based on ages, education, size and other factors. They found that there was an average of 2.54 people per household in the US.
Only households whose head had a bachelor's degree or higher earned a median income north of $120,000, but this group accounted for nearly 40 percent of American households.
Native Americans, earning a median of $61,060, were among the smallest subgroups represented (only two percent of American households fall under this category), along with young US households whose heads are aged between 15 and 24, which accounted for just 4.7 percent overall.
The lowest-earning households were those that consisted of individuals without a high school diploma ($36,620), and single women ($42,140).
