Murder suspect captured after falling through ceiling during police search

A murder suspect who had been on the run for months was finally caught when he fell through the ceiling of a residence police were searching.

A warrant for the arrest of Deario Wilkerson, 20, was issued in May following the April 2, 2024, shooting death of Troy Cunningham in Memphis, Tennessee.

On Monday, Memphis authorities tracked Wilkerson to a house in the city's Northeast section, where he was hiding in the attic. Agents searching the property didn't have to look for very long; the suspect fell through the ceiling and was "taken into custody with no further incident," the US Marshals Service said.

Wilkerson, who is the third suspect to be arrested and charged in the case, faces charges of first-degree murder and reckless endangerment committed with a deadly weapon.

Late actor Alain Delon's dog will not be buried with him

Animal lovers were relieved to learn this week that the dog of French film star Alain Delon, who died earlier this month aged 88, will not be buried with him.

Back in 2018, Delon suggested in an interview that he wanted his Belgian Malinois Loubo to join him in the grave when he passed away.

"I've had 50 dogs in my life, but I have a particular relationship with this one," he told Paris Match magazine. "If I die before him, I'll ask the veterinarian for us to leave together... I'd prefer that to knowing that he would let himself die on my tomb amid so much suffering."

After Delon died on August 18, animal rights activists and dog lovers alike were worried that the actor's wishes might actually be carried out.

An official from animal rights group the Brigitte Bardot Foundation reached out to Delon's family to express its concerns, and the family confirmed there are no plans to cut Loubo's life short.

"They said the question was not even raised, and they would let the dog live. They said he has a home in Douchy, and will live there," the official said.

IKEA employees in Sweden have broken the record for the world's biggest pajama party.

A total of 2,052 employees at the furniture company's Älmhult store gathered on Wednesday to break the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people wearing two-piece pajamas at a single venue.

The record attempt marked the start of IKEA's year-long initiative to improve sleep "for the many people."

Fredrika Inger, managing director of IKEA of Sweden, said: "We're thrilled about this collective effort, coming together to highlight the importance of sleep."

Border patrol seizes $5 million worth of meth disguised as watermelons

Border patrol officers in Southern California intercepted a truck carrying a shipment of watermelons and found $5 million worth of methamphetamine disguised as the fruit.

According to a release by US Customs and Border Protection, customs officers at the Otay Mesa Commercial Facility in San Diego referred a man attempting to drive a commercial tractor-trailer from Mexico into the US for an additional examination after the first checkpoint.

According to the agency, officers inspecting the shipment then discovered 1,220 packages of methamphetamine in wrappers designed to resemble watermelons.

The packages weighed almost 4,600 pounds in total, the agency said, which has an estimated street value of more than $5 million.

CBP officers confiscated the drugs and the vehicle and the unnamed driver have been handed over to Homeland Security Investigations.

Rosa Hernandez, port director for the Area Port of Otay Mesa, said: "As drug cartels continue to evolve their smuggling techniques, we will continue finding new and better ways to prevent these dangerous drugs and other contraband from entering the country."

Just weeks earlier, customs officers at the same facility confiscated $755,000 worth of meth hidden in a shipment of celery.
