Niko Stratis on her new book about the music that helped her survive before she transitioned. (slGQ)

An interview with LA RB re: her new book.

A Globe & Mail interview.

Niko's most recent blog entry.

She was cautiously touring the US to support her book, but has regretfully announced due to "personal reasons," she's headed back to Toronto.

But part of it, for me, is [that] a dad rock band or album or song or whatever is something that is teaching you something through failure or through some sort of circumstance that has left you with a scar. It’s this idea of “I have gotten myself further down the road than you and I am looking back and I'm showing you where I have stumbled. I'm letting you know that that's [what] I did, and you can avoid it if you want.”

Or, as "ür-dad figure" Bruce Springsteen puts it, slightly more hopefully: Someday we'll look back on this and it will all seem funny

thanks for posting this, there's a lot going on here

Thank you for sharing, Kitteh. I have not had a chance to go through the links (because weekends can be busier than work weeks? Adulting sux.)

Here is an excerpt (no gift article. I've reached my limit, I guess? Defector is worth a trial sub at least to read this) from the book. Looking forward to reading it.
