How did this go from hating Boomers to hating Bosses? Aren't most Boomers either retired or dead?

Bosses can call so many meetings because it makes them feel important.
Often they learned it from bosses they had.
A maelstrom of meetings is often (1) a boss's disguised way of knowing what is going on, (2) a way to diffuse responsibility [unless and until matters really go south], or (3) some of both.
Most meeting attendees show up unready to contribute and leave no better able to manage their own responsibility. Most meetings meet with no advance agenda. If they use an agenda, various attendees get too much time to free associate. Most meeting just take minutes then attendees get a copy afterward. WTF is that?
The idea that most employees are independent enough to work away from an office is plain wrong-headed. Most humans are not that independent thinking. -

If you think that your employees need to work in an office to be productive, you are a horrible manager.
