On November 6, 2024, Donald Trump won the 2024 US presidential election โ€” and the news was so devastating to some that searches for "how to flee the US" and "how to move to [country name]" grew by 5,000 percent in the 24 hours that followed.

While one survey found that almost 20 percent of Americans would consider moving country due to the political climate, another has identified the locations people would most like to relocate to post-election.

Casino.org surveyed more than 4,000 Americans on whether they'd move to another country following a negative election result, as well as where they'd like to go.

Nearly 20 percent of Americans said they would relocate to Canada if the 2024 election didn't go in their favor, making it the most desirable destination overall.

The UK (10.40 percent) was the second-most popular place to move to, followed by Japan (5.90 percent).

Of the top 10 most popular countries on the list, more than half are found in Europe, including Italy, Ireland and Switzerland.

Smart decision if you can make it happen. America is just at the beginning of a long decline. And we voted for it. Can't fix stupid. Find somewhere better.

If you are a skilled worker, you can move fairly easily. I plan on leaving when I can, but I need to finish my service first. Will probably head to Canada or New Zealand.

The rest of the world hates Americans. Good luck getting in anywhere.
