Lethe We Forget ...

Painting of a grand neoclassical mansion surrounded by lush greenery and trees, with a calm river in the foreground. People are rowing a small wooden boat on the river, while herons and ducks stand by the water's edge.Peter Waddell, Tiber Creek: The Bathers, oil on canvas, via The White House Historical Association, whitehousehistory.org

Down down we went past the gym, past the print shop, down below the law library where there was a quiet study room that was hardly ever used ... a rather amazing little story from The 10th Regiment of Foot in HumanComplex's very interesting post on Ghost Rivers. This feels like the beginning of a Rivers of London-esque cozy supernatural mystery!

More is Moore

Black and white photo of an elderly woman wearing a dark coat and a distinctive triangular hat. Her eyes are closed, and one hand is raised with a poised gesture, conveying a serene or reflective expressionportrait of Maryanne Moore by Richard Avedon, 1958

clavdivs posts in praise of the entirely fascinating human and poet, Marianne Moore, who once wrote When you take my time, you take something I had meant to use. It is time well-used here, if this sort of thing is the sort of thing you like.
