Slightly off topic, but I always wondered why Walter, since he was such a chemistry genius, didn't move into making acid or some other high profit illegal drug with a less miscreant distribution network.

He got off on the danger. Plus mushrooms and the precursors to LSD (ergot and what not) need to be grown, harvested, distilled before the chemistry even begins. You need long term grow houses, people to tend the product. Meth is 100% synthetic. A couple barrels of the right chemicals and you have a batch worth a ton of money within 24 hours. In the beginning he was in it for quick cash, not to start a 3-6 month grow program.
