
The Global Organized Crime Index ranks 193 countries based on the scale of their criminal activity, analyzing three main categories: criminal actor influence and structure, criminal market scale and impact and each country's resilience to organized crime. Countries are scored from zero to 10.
In the graphic below, Visual Capitalist mapped the world's organized hot spots, according to their Index scores.
With scores of 9.5 out of 10, Myanmar, Somalia, Venezuela and Colombia are the world's leading countries for organized crime.
Central and South American locations dominate the ranking, accounting for 14 of the 30 spots on the list, followed by Sub-Saharan Africa, with seven.
