    It's not about pronunciation. Asian names are no harder to pronounce than any other names. It's about memory. If a western person can't quite remember another western person's name, they have a huge memory bank of names to scan though, which is often enough to jog the memory into knowing who it is you're dealing with. Without this accumulated list it would be all but impossible to remember an unfamiliar name, belonging to that person you met in the pub two weeks in the past.
