(H2) E3 2003 Demo

Description
Earth Will Never Be The Same
Revisit the debut prototype of Halo 2 in this restoration of the notorious "Earth City" demonstration, initially unveiled at the Xbox press conference during E3 2003.

For the first time ever, take it to the streets, your way, with support for cooperative action, optional navigation points to rehearse the exact demo path and an included 'Playground' version of the level, allowing free roam of the city.

This release represents an effort to rebuild content originally designed for a different functioning game engine, the first campaign collaboration between Digsite and Halo Studios.

Several elements are updated to accommodate differences in Halo: The Master Chief Collection, however some inconsistencies will exist. Your play experience may vary.

Halo 2: Anniversary is required to launch this mission.
For community modders, a source release of tags and data for Earth City will be available at the Digsite GitHub repo, late November.

MORE WHERE THAT CAME FROM
ALPHA MOON - (Releasing November 15th)
A cut 2003-era continuation from the gas giant environment seen in The Arbiter, pursuit of the Heretic leader continues on Basis, a moon among remnants of Installation 04. Find it within the Digtacular Pack, a release of cut and early-iteration Halo 2 campaign & multiplayer maps.

Hot new maps o' action, freshly authored for Halo 2 by Delta Rampancy. Sight see the outskirts of combat in Jetty, battle in the cathedrals of Abyss, or take it old-school with In Amber Action, a ground up reimagining of CE's Boarding Action.

CRASH SITE - (Join the Decamillennium)
A new Halo: CE campaign level built upon the island seen in the Macworld reveal trailer for Halo, reinforce allies & eliminate Covenant on a search to uncover the island's mysteries, in one of the largest sandbox environments available in-engine. Also included is SPLASH SITE, a variant of Infinity tweaked for jet-ski action. Flip music included.

Originally included in the Limited Collector's Edition of Halo 2, this documentary chronicles the team behind Halo 2's development, including an intimate deep-dive of their world producing the E3 2003 prototype, the devastation manifest that followed, and their great journey to ship.

This is the holy grail of cut content for Halo fans. I remember being mesmerized when I saw the Earth City demo on the OXM demo disc as a kid. To be able to play it myself now 21 years after it was revealed to the world is a dream come true.

Wow, after all these years. I remember googling the halo 2 demo as a kid hoping to find a way to play this so it just blows my mind now that it's actually possible 20 years later. Also, if you've ever watched any of the commentary on the E3 demo you'll know that the halo 2 devs were terrified things would go wrong with the level as it was a live demonstration. You can clearly see that now yourself! Any deviation from the intended path quickly breaks immersion and even the scripting for certain sequences. However, I highly recommend you do break from the intended path and explore this level. It is way, way bigger than you think and it was very neat getting to explore all these unseen areas and seeing parts of the level that never made it to the demo.

It's weird cuz it's like we're closing a very old cycle with this demo recreation. 21 years later we can feel like our youth has returned for a moment, it's definitely the only way to celebrate Halo 2's anniversary.
Thanks a lot guys.
