Trying to remember a MetaFilter post discussing a TV show which had been canceled after one or two episodes, so the writers completely changed the plot, made the character some kind of demonic character, and killed him off in the final episode (something like 8 episodes in). [more inside]

I received this message the other day, in which I was trying to post something to MetaTalk. The last I checked, people could post to the blue every 12 hours. AskMe has moved from every 7 days to daily (and now appears to have no time limit? I don't spend a lot of time there.) When I used the "Contact Us", I was advised to make a post to see what the community thinks. So.... should we get rid of this barrier to posting to MetaTalk? [more inside]

Wow. When was the last time we had a MeTaTalkTailHour? When I remembered to check, it was always a nice destressor from a long week. How are you? How are things going? Specific to the title, have you reached out to an old friend or coworker recently? Sent them a post? a postcard? Or, maybe you missed a specific activity and you get to do it again? (Seasons should be changing so maybe something more outdoors for northern hemisphere vs. indoor for southern hemisphere?) Please go wild! go crazy! 'tis a conversation starter, not closer (with the caveat of no politics of course.)

I think it might be good to have a MeTa that gathers useful strategies that people have used, or seen used, that help MetaFilter conversations go as well as they can. My purpose is not to produce guidelines or rules- just to share ideas and experiences that can help us produce better conversations in a bottom-up sort of way. [more inside]
