You need a QR code made, but don't want to use an exploitive service with lots of ads and trackers? Bam. Announcement: "If you find it valuable, you can pay it back by creating your own useful thing for the world and releasing it for free. Let's take back the friendly web, one vexingly-monetized utility at a time!"

CyberChef also generates QR codes (and does a million other things), in your browser without any trickery. And it takes input via URL param, which can be quite convenient.

You can do this on your own Mac or Linux box too with qrencode. Here's the homebrew formula.

Neat. Doesn't include the border around the image that really should be there. Also relies on an external library (qrious - npm) which might go away/get compromised.

Next time you have guests who need to use the wifi (and you haven't found the 'share' link on your phone or want something a bit more permanent), drop this into justaqrcode:
WIFI:T:WPA;S:mynetwork;P:mypass;;
with the appropriate edits (details: Wi-Fi Network config (Android, iOS 11+)) and they won't have to bug you for wifi deets.

Wow. WOW. How did I not know about CyberChef? That is magical.

(Also, personal plea: hey, if you're going to use a QR code, and honestly you often shouldn't, please make sure you also have a human-readable version of the information or URL contained therein below it. It's not hard, people. Signed: my burning hatred for the local store that has a sign on the door that says "STORE HOURS:" followed by a QR code. No, not kidding.)

There's also pure JS WiFi QR Code Generator to generate handy printouts you can use to connect devices to WiFi.
