The Most Embarrassing Movie Misunderstandings
These people didn't pay close enough attention, and completely missed the basic ideas that drive these films.

Most mainstream films aren't particularly subtle with their themes, but that has never stopped huge swaths of movie watchers from completely missing the point. Unless the filmmakers didactically explain the core ideas like it's a children's show, it's inevitable that they're going to lose a good chunk of the audience.

Redditor u/FinalDemise wanted to hear about some of the worst examples of friends and families misinterpreting what they're watching, and AskReddit had a lot to share.

The amount of cringe in this thread is off the charts, sadly.

I love Ridley Scott but he has some takes on his own movies that no one else in the movie agrees with. BladeRunner the big example
