Mod note: Oh these are gorgeous, no question! I'm having a hard time choosing between Aspen Shadows and Earth and Sky. Probably the former as it captures the quiet stillness of that moment while Earth and Sky, for all its beauty, looks like a little too calm for all the chaotic energy no doubt being released.

Thanks for sharing this link!

Whiteout: someone really did the "polar bear in a snowstorm" gag?

Some of these, like Edge of Night, seem a little too perfect.

I think this might depict a situation where the honey badger do care.

These are amazing. I hope ML-powered image gen doesn't poison the well of this, too.

"Icy repose"? I would have gone with "Draw me like one of your French girls"…

So many great photos, but my vote went to Concert in the Forest. Ribbit.

The rules specify that anyone shortlisted will be required to provide "RAW files (e.g. .ARW, .CR2/3, .NEF, .ORF, .PEF), or original untouched JPEGs (with a range of ‘before’ and ‘after’ original untouched JPEG files)." I only know a little about how photography works, but I'm pretty sure ML can't create the kind of data in a RAW file, and if it's submitted as a JPEG it sounds like it would require multiple before/after shots of the same scene, which ML basically can't do. Someone with more familiarity with photography and these file formats please chime in if I'm off though!

I know it makes me terribly anthropocentric, but I am absolutely enamored with No Access and a Meeting in the Marsh. I think I like wildlife photography better when it doesn't pretend there were no humans involved, so the interact between the human and animal world is incredibly charming to me.

I'm torn between Annoying Neighbor and Earth & Sky.

I really did not need to see Unsold today. Or ever, really.

I voted for the butterflies, but Scanning the Realm takes it for me emotionally. I'm a fool for puma and other big mountain cats. This may not be the best picture of a puma or lynx, but I could fall into the background and get lost thinking about those mountains.
