According to Wikipedia's Year in Review, we spent a very considerable 2.4 billion hours reading articles on English Wikipedia this year โ but the site's 2024 ranking reveals that some Wiki rabbit holes claimed far more readers than others.
Based on data from the Wikimedia Foundation, the chart below shows the top 10 Wikipedia articles of 2024, by total pageviews.
Deaths in 2024 was the most popular article overall, with more than 44 million pageviews. Second place goes to Kamala Harris, whose page was the most-visited of any individual this year (29 million pageviews).
With just under 28 million pageviews, the US presidential election was the third-most popular article on Wikipedia โ perhaps an unsurprising result, given it was arguably the biggest political event of 2024. The Indian general election also made the list this year, ranking 10th overall.
Wikipedia's article on Lyle and Eric Menendez was heavily read following two hit Netflix releases on the brothers' murder case, while "Deadpool & Wolverine" was the most-read of any entry relating to a movie.
