By all accounts, Harris's strong performance during Tuesday's debate has bolstered her campaign, while putting Trump on his back foot. What a difference a new candidate makes, huh?

As of Friday, September 13, 2024, we're just 52 days away from election day, so even minor slip-ups are starting to really matter as the runway shortens. Let's check in to see what has happened since the debate earlier this week.

Trump won't debate Harris again

Kamala Harris embarked on a drive to exploit her strong debate performance on Thursday, as the Democratic presidential nominee's campaign pledged to intensify efforts to persuade voters in battleground states deemed essential to winning the White House.

Meanwhile, her opponent, Donald Trump β€” whose debate performance has been criticized even by some of his supporters β€” said that he would refuse to debate Harris again. "There will be no third debate," he said in an angrily worded post on his Truth Social social media platform.

After Trump's racist attack on Haitian immigrants, Springfield, Ohio, faces bomb threats

The mayor of Springfield, Ohio, said a bomb threat Thursday that led to the evacuation of City Hall and numerous buildings "used hateful language towards immigrants and Haitians in our community."

"Springfield is a community that needs help," Mayor Rob Rue said in an interview with The Washington Post. The mayor added that national leaders should provide that help and not "hurt a community like, unfortunately, we have seen over the last couple of days."

Trump does not care who is hurt in his bids for power (Ohio story). Lies, attacks, putting others in danger are of no consequence nor consideration for him.
The clearest example of what Trump truly cares about came when Harris said people left his rallies because they were bored. It was the only thing Trump became truly angry about because it hit his ego. He cares about himself (and specifically his image) the most. He doesn't care about any of the other issues, other than whether they can help him win. The hits on his ego were brilliant as it caused him to become more unhinged than usual...
