Reporters Snubbing Babyface At The Grammys, And More Of This Week's 'One Main Character'

Every day, somebody says or does something that earns them the scorn of the internet. Here at Digg, as part of our mission to curate what the internet is talking about right now, we rounded up the main characters on X from this past week and held them accountable for their actions.
Each day on twitter there is one main character. The goal is to never be it

This week, we've got
friday
@yslj0rdiee
The character: @yslj0rdiee, X user, bad at texting
The plot: Last week, an X user by the handle @yslj0rdiee shared screenshots of three unsuccessful text conversations with three different girls. In each, the girls politely let him know that they aren't romantically interested.
"What am I doing wrong man," his tweet reads.
What am I doing wrong man these are 3 dif girls and all same results pic.twitter.com/wDxiscXfwb
โ โ (@yslj0rdiee) January 31, 2025
The repercussion: Some people in the replies offered @yslj0rdiee sincere advice, some reassured him that the girls simply didn't appreciate what a nice guy he was โ but a whole bunch of others made it very clear that they thought he was the issue.
Look pal I get rejected as much as the next guy, modern dating is tough, but between the thumbs downs and the you canโt be serious on that last one your soul is bitchmade and your spirit is wanting. No wonder women donโt want you youโre an emotional peasant https://t.co/OzaYSz4rYE

You didn't do anything bad man, it's not always your fault. Some girls are not into relationships now and it's better for you. Keep shooting your shot, l was in the same stage youre in rn and now I have a gf whos the most beautiful girl. Heads up, it's for the best

Joe Biden
The character: Joseph Robinette Biden Jr, noted Delawarean politician, CAA's newest "talent"
The plot: As you may know, Joe Biden wasn't just a US Senator from Delaware โ he served as both the Vice President and President of the United States of America. His political gig ended abruptly recently, so he's having a late-in-life career change by signing with a Hollywood talent agency.

The repercussion: While he was also signed to Creative Artists Agency during the gap between his VP term and his Presidential term, this go-round is getting a lot of side-eye. The nation is going through a lot right now, and "who's gonna play Biden in a biopic?" or "what's his next book going to be called?" aren't questions at the top of our minds.
Joe Biden will return in The Avengers: Doomsday

Sahil Bloom
The character: Sahil Bloom, entrepreneur, well-intentioned poster
The plot: Recently, Bloom shared a post aimed at inspiring his followers to stop worrying about other people's opinions and pursue their dreams.
"Nobody is thinking about you," the graphic read. "You aren't afraid of failure. You're afraid of what other people will think of you if you fail. Well, no one is thinking about you. They're too busy thinking about themselves. So go do the damn thing."
The repercussion: It was nice of Bloom to try and encourage us all, but he should know by now that X is the least suitable platform for this kind of sincere inspo content. It didn't take long before users were sharing examples of times they definitely were thinking about something a stranger had done, or times they'd done something embarrassing that other people noticed.

Krysta fauria
The character: Krysta fauria, Associated Press reporter, Chappell Roan fan, impulsive interviewer
The plot: During an Associated Press Grammy's livestream this year, reporters Krysta fauria and Leslie Ambriz were interviewing Babyface, a 12-time Grammy winner, when fauria interrupted their chat to get Chappell Roan's attention. This didn't amuse Babyface, and he promptly ended the interview. "You guys want to take that?" he asked. "Go do that then."

The backlash was almost instant, and no one attempted to understand or excuse the reporter's behavior โ everyone thought it was completely out of line.
The repercussion: The Associated Press and its reporters have since apologized for the interaction, but not before the incident spread all over the internet and made news headlines. On socials, everyone โ fans and musicians from all generations โ were surprised to see Babyface receive this kind of treatment. following the backlash, the reporter involved has since deactivated her X account.
We are deeply sorry for cutting our interview with Babyface short on our YouTube livestream of the Grammys red carpet. We have apologized to him through his representative and to our viewers on the livestream.
