Hurricane Milton, a Category 3 storm, tore through Florida on Wednesday night, leaving millions stranded without power. There were four deaths confirmed in St. Lucie County, on the Atlantic coast, as of the morning of Thursday, October 10.

More than 10 million people have been at risk of flash and river flooding, and over three million Floridians are without power. President Biden said that 1,000 Coast Guard members had been deployed for assistance.
