The Pennsylvania governor said that "some from the dark corners of the internet all the way to the Oval Office want to cherry-pick" which political violence incidents they condemn.
The race comes three months after Hortman and her husband were killed in what Minnesota authorities described as a “politically motivated assassination."
The president provided few details about the event, noting that the timing and location were still "to be determined." Democrats said they're also considering a midterm convention.
The assassination of the young conservative activist has driven even more of a wedge between the two parties while leaders try to lower the rhetorical temperature.
