Basketball has Jordan, football has Brady and baseball has Ruth. Likewise, for a few, Wayne Gretzky might be the only hockey player they can name off the top of their head, and there's a reason for that: He was dominant in a way that nobody has come close to replicating in professional hockey.

Redditor u/twintig5 put together a delightful graphic that highlights which players have scored the most points in the NHL — in both playoff and season games.

Players like Mark Messier and Jari Kurri stand out from most, but Wayne Gretzky is clearly in his own class.

Perhaps the most depressing part of this graph is how few of the folks on it are actively playing. It doesn't seem likely we'll have anyone who can make a legitimate go at Gretzky's legacy for years to come.
