A report published by The Information said that Amazon's Just Walk Out stores, which allowed customers to walk out without any checkout interaction, will stop using their unmanned checkout technology. Back in May '23, the publication also reported how the stores seemed like they were automated, but in fact were operated by workers in India, who were tasked with tagging and ensuring the accuracy of each checkout.
