Over on Reddit, user oscarleo0 used data from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation to map the life expectancy of newborn children in each county of the US (where figures were available).
When it comes to counties with lower life expectancies — around 72 years or shorter — many are clustered in the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee and Kentucky.
Higher life expectancies are found across the country's more affluent states — like New Jersey, New York and Washington — as well as other areas including Nebraska, Idaho and Wyoming.
