With an expensive medical system like we have here in the US, it's easy to get into the habit of shrugging off discomfort, and kicking the can down the road for only "serious" visits to the doctor. Sometimes we can come out unscathed, but other times it's a matter of life and death.
The worst part? We can't easily tell which is which.
Redditor u/Prudent_Tip4118 needed to know which conditions other people have brushed off only to find out they're suffering from something very serious. We couldn't help but read along with our jaws dropped โ taking note of similar experiences.
Note: Don't take medical advice from people on the internet. If you have a concern, please discuss it with a qualified medical professional.
What is the oddest thing you thought was ok/normal and ended up being a medical problem?

Gut pain is no joke, so fight for a diagnosis if the pain is substantial
