Every day, somebody says or does something that earns them the scorn of the internet. Here at Digg, as part of our mission to curate what the internet is talking about right now, we rounded up the main characters on X from this past week and held them accountable for their actions.



This week, we've got a surprisingly controversial take on laptops, a jaw-dropping quote from a gaming platform boss and someone who insists there are never any hot women on "Saturday Night Live."


Thursday

Stefano Corazza

The character: Roblox Studio boss Stefano Corazza, word twister

The plot: Roblox is an online game platform and game creation system that allows users β€” a large portion of whom are children β€” to create their own games and earn Robux, the platform's currency, in return.

Roblox has faced accusations of "exploiting" its young creators for a number of years β€” and, in a recent interview with Eurogamer at the Games Developer Conference, Roblox Studio head Stefano Corazza offered quite the defense of the platform:


The repercussion: The gaming industry hasn't seen an "insert foot directly into mouth" quote like this in quite some time; the words "yikes," "woof" and "barf" come to mind. People were pretty taken aback by the insinuation that Roblox is doing child workers a favor. Child labor, everybody! Time to embrace it because the head of a company said it was a good thing.

The character: @soulohlove, X poster, laptop user

The plot: On Monday, X user @soulohlove posted a perfectly innocuous take: that booking flights should be done on a laptop, not a phone. Nothing controversial there, right? Wrong.


The repercussion: While I agree with our main character here β€” important or expensive purchases really should be done on a big screen β€” plenty of people felt very strongly the other way. From minor teasing to straight-up calling her old, OP got a surprisingly passionate response from X users who simply love to book flights on their phones.

Sunday

Jahelis

The character: Jahelis, TikToker, hater, hot person adjudicator

The plot: On Sunday, an X account called "Zero Star Reviews" shared a post by TikTok user Jahelis along with its opening line: "Am I the only person who has noticed that SNL has never hired a 'hot woman?'"

In the video, Jahelis is pretty harsh with her critique, using comedians Heidi Gardner and Kristen Wiig to make her point. The X user who shared her post made it clear that he was in no way endorsing those views, but they went viral nonetheless.


The repercussion: From fancams to stans, and every online news outlet you can think of, this bad take unleashed a flood of responses β€” including from SNL alums and actors themselves. The majority of reactions were just people posting flattering shots of the show's cast members, as if one needed a mean prompt to do that.

    Somebody should point out to the wee lass that attractive trumps hot and lovely beats pretty every single time. For example, the engagement baiter is in no way coventionally hot, but she wouldn't have to ask twice cos she is super lovely and at least trying to be intelligent.
